We all have to face the fact of getting older, however, there are certain strategies you can adopt to slow the aging process. You will never stop it, it's a part of life. These strategies may help you to live a longer, healthier, happier life. There are leading foundations throughout the world that are focusing on finding ways to extend human life well beyond to-days average by combining Eastern and Western medicine and supplements but the magic answers are still being sought. Experts and Scientists believe that the advancement of biogenetic and general medical technology could see some serious breakthroughs within the next few decades.
Of course, most of the population to-day who are worried about the effects of aging, won't have the time to wait for these medical breakthroughs. However, while we are here on earth, we have to work to have some degree of control over healthy aging. Take care of yourself so that you will not only look younger but feel younger with more energy.
Exercise and diet are the two factors considered essential for you to live a healthy, energized life. If you are overweight, you should do something about it as soon as possible as obesity leads to many health risks such as heart disease, sleep apnoea, strokes, diabetes, and some forms of cancer. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to find the willpower to take control of your body and your eating habits to-day. Obesity causes your heart to work harder, gives you less energy and c
n make you feel depressed. You then don't want to go anywhere or do anything as your emotional, physical and mental state are affected by obesity.
Diet
The healthy aging process starts here. Your family doctor or dietician will suggest a diet for you, however, it is well known that foods high in saturated fats are harmful to the heart. Fast foods such as hamburgers and fries fall into this category and are not good for the digestive system. Instead of frying your food try baking it as this helps to drain the fat out of the food and will help to cutback on the grease left in the food. Have foods like pizza without cheese, stir-fried dinners, steamed vegetables, vegetable-based soups, low fat cottage cheese and fruit for dessert or fat-free yogurt.. Try to eat plenty of raw vegetables and salads.
You should be aware that saturated fats are mainly found in animal products like meat, eggs, butter, cheese, whole milk and milk products.
Exercise
Try getting yourself into an exercise program by walking small distances initialy and gradually building it up to 30 minutes a day. This can be achieved by 3x10 minute sessions and as you feel more energetic you can increase to 2x15 minutes and so on. Try exercising with a friend or in a group. Any exercise you can do will help in the healthy body stakes as it will increase your heart rate and help to free up the stiffness in your legs.
By staying in good health you can slow the aging process. If you are interested in prolonging your life to enjoy a happy and healthy time on this earth you must change your eating habits and find the motivation to start that exercise program. It's now up to you!!
